They’re all finished and are now ready to be implemented in the game! So that’s not really a target, it was a count of what I already have developed. Will there really be 180+ foods? That seems like a huge amount to target.įood art wrapped up in June. I want each in game completed day to bring something brand new to the table. that are unveiled through the course of the main campaign. Now that CSD 1 was successful, I was able to add in a ton of new content and foods for CSD 2 that allow me to do a lot more events, challenges, etc. The reason for the small amount of foods/content in the last game was because quite frankly I didn’t have enough money to do more. There was a lot of “grind” in the last game is that something you’ll be fixing for the new game?Ībsolutely, that was a big priority for this one. So I plan on revealing brand new elements in the game at least once a month. Whoa, there’s still so much to discuss with the game! I don’t want to confirm anything just yet. Online Mulitplayer? Local co-op? Versus modes? The goal is to have basically everything in the game key binding ready, including prep stations.

Like the last game, CSD2 will support button mapping for a large range of controllers such as the Dualshock 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U Pro Controller and more! The game will also have much better support for keyboard mapping. I don’t have the shortcut keys finalized to a point where I was comfortable in showing the PC version, so I decided to show off the gamepad controls instead. That said, I’m definitely going to take a hard look at it once the game is ready for PS4/Steam. Plus there’s the whole parity clause issue, so we’ll have to see where that stands next year.Īs far as mobile/Vita goes, I love those platforms but it’ll definitely be more of a technical challenge to port to those than before. The reason there’s not a simultaneous PS4/XB1 release is because this will be my first console development process, and the idea of going through two at once seemed like an insane amount of stress to be put under. I definitely want to look at going to more platforms after the PS4/Steam versions are done. Will we see CSD 2 on mobile/Vita/Xbox One/etc.? I also wanted to take the time to answer a few questions that I know some of y’all have had with this announcement. I haven’t been able to do that in a long while so it’s gonna be fun to get back in it. Saturdays: It’ll be great to get back to participating in #screenshotsaturdays, where indie devs posts random development pics.
That will be a nice wrap up before making posts focusing exclusively on CSD 2. Next week I’m posting a new Gamasutra article on the Steam Sale, Steam Refunds and lots more (Part 7 of the “How Much do Indie Devs Make, Anyways?”). Thursdays: Game development updates via Tumblr or other sites. Wednesdays: New food reveals! Each week I’ll be unveiling a new food for CSD 2.

I also plan on having another patch for CSD 1 later this month to fix some remaining bugs. Even though work has shifted to nearly 100% on CSD 2, I plan on supporting these weekly challenges for the rest of the year.
#STEAM COOK SERVE DELICIOUS 2 UPDATE#
Mondays: The new Cook, Serve, Delicious Weekly Challenge update for Steam, as it has been for the last few months. There’s a lot I have planned so here’s the schedule I have for the incoming weeks and months: Plus I was going to go crazy if I kept it a secret for much longer. You can find a ton more info at .Ģ016 isn’t really that far away, but I know a few people have asked why I announced it “early.” Really it’s for two reasons: I love sharing game development progress and getting feedback from everyone, and now’s the time to get it while development is early on, and the other is because it seemed like the right time.
